Meryl Streep Iron Lady dames up for four Golden Globe nominations as Downton receives

Golden Globes beckon: Downton Abbey, which returns on December 25th with its Christmas special, has been nominated for four of the prestigious awards
Its uncanny depiction of Margaret Thatcher has met with mixed reviews on this side of the Atlantic.
But Meryl Streep has managed to win over the critics in Hollywood - and has won a Golden Globe nomination as best actress was awarded the Iron Lady.
She takes on stars like Tilda Swinton for her role in We need to Kevin and Glenn Close for Albert Nobbs Talk.

For the men, Luther's Idris Elba, page eight are Bill Nighy and appropriate adult is nominated Dominic West for their roles.
And Jeremy Irons and Damian Lewis, who is nominated for best actor in a TV Drama for her role in The Borgias and Homeland respectively.
The awards recognize talent will also screen at the Los Angeles 15th Held in January and will be again hosted by Ricky Gervais.
