Despite being rivals for more than three decades, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Paul Allen judging figure Steve Jobs is a unique technology pioneer, colleagues, competitors, and also a friend.
"I am truly saddened to learn of his death. Melinda and I convey my sincere condolences to family and friends, and everyone, Steve touched through his work," he said, as quoted by Reuters from personal blogs Gates and Allen.
Gates met Steve reveals nearly 30 years ago. Both have become partners, competitors, and friends in more than half their lives.
"The world rarely seen someone who has an impact as Steve. The impact will be felt for many generations to come. Lucky for us who have worked together with him," he said.
Gates reveals working together with Steve is a great honor.
"I will really miss Steve," he said.
Paul Allen, Microsoft's other founder states participated berbelasungkawa to family and friends of Steve Jobs.
"We have lost a pioneer of unique technologies and know how to create an outstanding product. Steve has fought a long war against heavy odds with the very brave," he said.
Steve, he added, continue to do this extraordinary thing in the face of all difficulties.
"As someone who has my own health challenges, I am very moved by how he's defensive," said Paul.
Steve Jobs passed away October 5, 2011.
